A dream comes true!  That's how the first sentence of the very first publication of the North Main Street Church of Christ read some 47 years ago.  It was distributed at the very first worship service held in their brand new building right here at North Main on December 29th, 1957.  But that publication did not speak of buildings and budgets, and rightly so, for that's not what we are about.  Instead, it spoke of service and sacrifice, effort and evangelism, and a dream to "reach every individual in the county".

No, we are not about buildings or budgets, wall color or carpet, pews or even pulpits.  And so this brief history does not include a picture of the property.  For our history is not about property, but about people.  And so we thank you Lord for all the blessings you have given us and we keep in memory all those who have loved and labored before us.  And though the dream may have started with others, we dare not let it end with us.  For we face the future with humility and a deep sense of need of God's help.  We face the future with determination, to hold fast to the truth and to be a New Testament church in both doctrine and practice.
