Change for Children

Helping others is very much a part of Christian living. Paul wrote to the churches at Galatia: “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:10) James tells us: “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this: To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27)

We have many opportunities to practice pure religion by helping others. One way in which we can help the fatherless is through support of the Southeastern Children’s Home. At this time of year they have a fundraising drive called: Change For Children. Many of us picked up a can a few months back. It is now time to return them. Next Sunday, September 30, is the deadline.

If, like some of us, you did not get as many coins in the cans as you would have liked, feel free to put a check or some folding money in.
