Pharr Article, Change for Children, EEM

Frequently when someone proposes some new innovation in the church, I ask, “Why didn’t God think of that?” One would think that if the new ideas men propose to improve upon God’s plan were really all that good, then certainly God Himself would have thought of them. My brother, David, has written an excellent article along this line. I have made copies of the article and put them in the racks with the bulletins. Take one. I think you will enjoy reading it.

Thanks to those of you who helped count the “Change for Children” last Sunday evening. The total came to $574. The money has been sent to the Southeastern Children’s Home in Duncan, SC. Thanks to all who had a part in this good work.

The Eastern European Mission benefit dinner will be Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the South Fork church of Christ in Winston-Salem. EEM puts Bibles and other religious literature in the public schools of the former Soviet Union. We will have an opportunity to learn about the good work they do and also to contribute to it. Both the food and the fellowship are always good. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board for those who plan to go.
