Does God Exist?

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” Genesis 1:1. The Bible declares “God created the heaven and the earth.” The Bible also tells us God was there “in the beginning.” To believe otherwise is to dispute the Bible. To dispute the Bible, is to dispute what God tells us. That’s clear! In my simple mind, the theory of evolution is science fiction. It’s false, but it is still popularly embraced by the majority. Remember the last article “many people live as though human opinion is the highest standard.”

Let’s discuss cause and effect. The universe and everything created in it is an effect. What was the cause? There are three ways to account for it. Only one can be correct. Which one is correct?

  1. “The universe is eternal.” It is clear, scientifically that the universe has not been here forever. This point will not be argued. Scientists have attempted to assign an age to everything.
  2. “The universe created itself from nothing.” Matter cannot create itself. Science will not argue this point either. “From nothing comes nothing.”
  3. “The universe was created by something superior to itself.”

Apply the principle “from nothing comes nothing.” The first law of thermodynamics states that if there was a time when nothing existed then nothing would exist now. Something cannot come from nothing. But something exists. Therefore, something has always existed. No matter what twist we put on it, without recognizing God as the Creator, the question remains. What is it that always existed?

“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God” (Psalm 90:2).
