Encouragement to Men Striving to be Faithful

There is so much significance in the word “faithful.”

God is faithful. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). “But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil” (2 Thess. 3:3).

Abraham was faithful. “So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham” (Galatians 3:9)

Paul was faithful. “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry” (1 Tim. 1:12).

The Word of God is faithful. “Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers” (Titus 1:9).

The gospel is to be committed to faithful men. “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2).

When life’s race is run, I am sure we would all like to be added to the list of God’s faithful in Hebrews 11. In the coming weeks, my hope is to add a few props to your faith to make that happen.
