God of Lightning

Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man” (Job 38:25-26) This scripture indicates there is a correlation between lightning and raindrops. Once again, scientific fact agrees with the bible account from the book of Job. You may remember studying this in your high school science class. When fast rising air rubs against water drops in the clouds, the top of the cloud becomes negatively charged. If the fast rising air is strong enough to split the cloud apart, so that each has a different electrical charge, lightning occurs. Scientists believe that the electricity in lightning causes tiny droplets of water to combine and thus form rain. A scientific experiment in a laboratory confirms that in the presence of an electrical field water droplets will combine to form raindrops. What a magnificent Creator that would meet all the needs of His creation through the natural realm combined with His providential care. The evidence is clear throughout the Bible. There is no conflict between what God’s word revealed and that which science later discovered.

The more one studies Jehovah’s examination of Job (Chapters 38-41), the more impressed one becomes with humanity’s great ignorance in contrast with the wonderful, omniscience of the great Creator of this universe. Study it, and be humbled.
