Over 800 prophecies are recorded by the writers of the Old Testament, over 300 regarding the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Here are a few.
Jesus would be (and was) born of a virgin mother. Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Matthew 1:23 “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
- Jesus would (and did) work miracles.
- Jesus would (and did) rise from the dead. Psalm 16:10 “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.” Luke 24:6 “He is not here; he has risen!”
This is only three of over 300 prophecies about the Messiah written hundreds of years before the events occurred! How is that possible? With man it is not possible, but with God all things are possible. 2 Peter 1:21 “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” We have overwhelming prophetic proof of the validity of the Bible.
