“He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion” Jeremiah 10:12
Sometimes the simplest question seems so unnecessary. Of course God exists. Why ask the question?
Belief in God is at the very core of Christian ethics. Although atheist are in the minority, their thinking is all around us. The violence and wickedness we see in the world is proof that many people live as though human opinion is the highest standard. By this standard, if I do something wrong or evil without getting caught, then I am in the clear. But what about God? He sees all and He knows all things. He’s God! The big issue then becomes “Will God be pleased with my actions?” Therefore, the question “Does God exist?” needs to be answered. Let’s go to the source of previous study: the Bible.
- Romans 1:19-21 insists that there is enough information in nature so that people are “without excuse” when it comes to belief in God.
- Acts 14:14-17 affirms that God has proof of his existence in the changing seasons.
- Psalms 19:1-2 tells us that the heavens declare the glory of God and the expanse of heaven shows the work of His hands.
- Hebrews 3:4 says that “every house is built by someone; but He who built all things is God.”
The Bible affirms that there is enough evidence in the realm of nature to confirm our belief in God.
