As faithful children of God, we have everything we need. God has given us “everything pertaining to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3), and by His word, we can be “equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). While our every need is supplied, there are some things that we still do not have.
In the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, Moses wrote, “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law” (29:29). Some knowledge has been held back by God, some things remain secret or unknown, but what God has revealed is for our benefit.
As we study God’s word, we may have specific questions about things like creation, the relationship among the Godhead, judgment day, or eternity. We should be excited by our curiosity as we dig through Bibles to find answers to these questions. We may search the scriptures and finally come to realize that not all answers are provided, but we should take comfort in knowing that God has given us everything we need. Even when we still have questions, we have everything we need.
