As New Testament Christians, we understand that the Bible does not authorize a religious celebration of Jesus’ birth. But it is an appropriate time of year to think on the birth of our Savior.
God sent His Son to live among humanity and, in the end, be sacrificed for humanity. Without Jesus’ birth, His sinless life and redeeming death could not have transpired.
Jesus willingly left the glories of heaven for this sin-filled world. He was born for the express purpose of living a sacrificial life among people who would reject, threaten, betray and ultimately kill Him.
Every day of the year, we should be grateful to God the Father and Jesus the Son for the love displayed by way of Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection. All to show us the way to heaven.
