Standing on God’s Promise of Prayer

While promises that give us faith, hope, and comfort fill God’s word, one of the most incredible is His promise to hear and answer our prayers.

In Proverbs 15:23, we read, “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.” This wise statement, written down for us by Solomon, is also a promise from the Almighty God. When we pray, God hears our prayer.

In Matthew 7:7, Jesus Himself says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Here, we learn that we should pray to God and expect Him to answer those prayers.

It is remarkable to consider that at any moment of any day, regardless of where we are or who we are with, whether we are overflowing with joy or in the deepest sorrow, God promises that we can speak to Him, that He will hear us, and that He will answer our prayers.
