Every week, as Christians, we gather together and take time to reflect on the death of our Lord. In these moments, we do more than simply remember; we proclaim His death to all. His sacrifice on the cross was not merely a historical event; it was the defining act of God’s love (Galatians 1:4). When we pause to consider the weight of this gift, gratitude naturally rises within us.
This coming Thursday, many will sit around a table with friends and family, reflecting on the blessings in their lives—or perhaps simply enjoying a holiday centered on giving thanks. Whatever the reason, this season presents a wonderful opportunity to think about the greatest gift ever given: the sacrifice of Christ (Romans 5:8).
There are countless reasons to give thanks to God, but above all, should be Christ’s sacrifice for us. Only because He willingly went to the cross can we be freed from sin. Only because of Christ can we call ourselves children of God, and look forward to our eternal home with Him. Christ gave everything for us, and we, as Christians, must remain eternally grateful for such a sacrifice. So as we reflect on the many blessings God has provided, let us not forget the life-saving gift of our Lord.
