Am I Doing What’s Right?

If you could ask God one question, and He would answer it, what would it be? Many questions might come to mind, but perhaps the most important is: “Am I doing what is right and going to Heaven?”

In today’s world, countless answers are offered, but no one solution tells the whole story. Some say, “Just be a good person.” Others teach, “Simply believe and ask Jesus into your heart.” Still others say, “Go to church.” With so many opinions, how can we truly know what we must do to be saved and make it to Heaven?

Consider the books of John, as he gives us clear guidance. In John 20:30–31, he records the purpose of his gospel is to show who Jesus is so that we might hear, believe, and obey Him, as He is the source of life. When we look directly to the source of Life, we find the truth. When we live in obedience to that Truth, walking in the Light as He commands, we gain confidence in our salvation. John writes in 1 John 5:13, that we can know we have eternal life.

Many sources claim to offer assurance, but only one truly does: God’s Word. Are we seeking how to be saved, how to live, and how to have assurance? Consider the Word of God and let it answer all our questions.
