Because He Lives

The song, “Because He Lives,” is familiar to many, but have you truly reflected on the vital importance of Christ living?

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures” – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Because He lives, we can have faith in the Scriptures. God foretold Christ’s death and resurrection long before His birth (Psalms 16:10, Hosea 6:2). Knowing Christ now reigns at the right hand of God gives us confidence in His Word.

Because He lives, we have unwavering faith. Our foundation is in Christ Himself. Paul reminds us that if Christ had not resurrected, our faith would be in vain. Yet, because Christ lives, we believe in a God who sympathizes with us, cares deeply, and provides for our needs.

Because He lives, our heavenly home is secured. In Christ, death is not feared; it’s a transition to eternal glory. This assurance should fill us with joy and a zeal to share the good news. Christ’s life brings encouragement, hope, and purpose, not just for us, but for the whole world.
