Being blessed isn’t about having the nicest things, achieving the most success, or enjoying the best health. It’s about the peace and freedom that comes from being in Christ. Despite none of us being perfect, we find that God still made provisions for us. He allows us to come to Him though sinful, to be made perfect through Christ.
Truly being blessed means being a child of God. Imagine a thunderstorm rolling in, with a huge thunderhead and lightning flashing within, enveloping the sun and taking away the light. This may seem ominous, but what if it suddenly broke open to reveal bright, warm sunshine? This describes the shift from feeling weighed down by the guilt of sin to basking in the light of God’s grace. From having no hope and sense of dread, to a sense of peace.
According to Psalm 32, being blessed means living free, filled with peace, and overflowing with joy because we are forgiven of wrong doings. No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, God’s grace is bigger, brighter, and always ready to lift you up. All that needs to be done is to take advantage of His provisions and be added to Him and walk with Him faithfully.
