Christ’s Side

Have you ever been confronted with a highly debated topic? When this happens, it’s not always pleasant. We don’t want to conflict with anyone. However, there are times when we must take a side, and choose the right one. In John 9, we find a blind man who was healed by Jesus. He was in a similar situation; he was called to choose a side. There are two sides and two choices: the side of the Pharisees, or the side of Christ. The man’s parents chose the wrong side but were allowed to remain in the synagogue. However, the blind man chose the side of Christ and was blessed as a result.

As we reflect on the story of the blind man, we recognize that there are similar situations in our lives. Discussions about our faith often become contentious, and some individuals even engage in combative behavior regarding their beliefs. Consequently, it becomes challenging for Christians to assert their convictions unequivocally. However, as we discovered in this account, there are two distinct paths to choose from: aligning oneself with the world or with Christ. Let us strive to consistently seek out the path that aligns with Christ’s teachings and stand up for the truth.
