This is the final question in this lesson and it attempts to combine everything we have studied and learned so far.

This is not a topic that anyone enjoys discussing, but it is an important part of God's word and God's plan of salvation. Keep in mind, as has been mentioned several times, that there is much more to the story and that God has provided each of us a way to escape the punishment due because of our sin.

Remember the sequence that we have already studied as you consider answering this question.

1. We have all sinned.

2. Because of our sin, no one is righteous on their own.

3. The unrighteous (people who are not righteous) will not "inherit the kingdom of God." In other words, the unrighteous will not enter heaven.

4. The payment due for our sin is death, specifically, spiritual death.

5. The payment due for our sin, spiritual death, refers to hell.

And now we ask the very difficult question: where will we go if we remain in our sin? What will the end result of our sin be if nothing changes? What does the Bible teach that most people will do about their sin? Where will most people spend eternity when this life is over?

In Matthew 7, Jesus is describing judgment day. On that day we will all be judged by (according to) the word of God. Read what Jesus said about who and how many will find the way that leads to eternal life.

Matthew 7:13-14 - "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and they way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it" -(New American Standard Bible).

Where will we go if we remain in our sin? Will most people go to heaven or hell?
