We have already studied that Jesus was God. This question specifically asks if Jesus became a man (or flesh).

John told us that Jesus was God from the beginning and that Jesus became flesh and "dwelt among us" (John 1:1, 14). Another passage to consider is from Paul's letter to the Philippians. In Philippians 2:8, Paul is encouraging Christians to have the same attitude of humility that Christ had.

Philippians 2:5-8 - "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross" -(New American Standard Bible).

We learn so much from this passage of scripture. Jesus "existed in the form of God," but He was humble enough to take on "the form of a bond-servant...being made in the likeness of men."

Although Jesus was God, He allowed Himself to become flesh, to become a servant, and to become so obedient that He gave His life on a cross.

Jesus possessed a level of humility that we should all strive for.
