Have you ever heard the saying, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”? This quote is often used when thinking about how to accomplish a difficult task. Before any task can be completed, it must first be started, and why not begin with just one step?
Now, take a moment to consider the Christian’s responsibility to spread the Word of God. There are so many people, friends, co-workers, and even family members who need to hear the gospel. Jesus gave every Christian this command in Mark 16:15: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” So, the question becomes: where do we begin?
Our theme for this year is Each One, Reach One. This is a simple and practical way to begin sharing the gospel. Rather than trying to reach the whole world at once, we set a goal: reach one person. And when you reach that one, reach one more. Our mindset as Christians should always be “just one more”. There is always one more soul who needs to hear the good news.
It all begins with each of us taking personal responsibility to reach one lost soul we know and help guide them to the truth. As many people are setting New Year’s resolutions, let us add one more: to set out to intentionally help lead at least one person to Christ this year.
