How many times do you think about Christ throughout the day? How many times do we stop and really meditate on the suffering of our Lord? What would happen if we thought about Christ more? Just think about how many times we may check social media, the news, or emails, compared to how many times we pick up His Word in a day.
We do not have to carry around a Bible that might get lost or damaged, but we can pull the Bible up on our phones. Think about the days of the Old Testament, where they had to read the law from scrolls, or they would go to synagogue for hours just to hear God’s Word. Think of the early church getting letters from the inspired men, having to hand copy them, then pass them around. How valued was the Word then? How valued is the Word in our hands today, with such ease of access?
Our goal should be to think of Christ and His Word more (2 Timothy 2:15, Hebrews 12:2-3). Can we make it a goal to focus on Christ just a little more than we have? What if we just devoted 10 more minutes in the middle of the day to think of Him? When we got that down maybe 10 more minutes in the evening. Maybe instead of focusing so much on the trivial things in life, we should give a little more time to study. Let’s challenge ourselves to make it a habit to think of Christ continually.
